[edit] History
The men's basketball team is tied with UE Red Warriors having the most number of titles in UAAP basketball, with eighteen, including a four-year run as champions, from the 1993-94 season, where they've swept the elimination round with an immaculate 14-0 record (automatic champions), up to the 1996-97 season, where they have beaten the La Salle Green Archers for the third consecutive Finals series. The Tigers were led by coach Aric del Rosario from the 1992-93 season up to the 2003-04 season.
From 1964 to 1971, UST met the UE Red Warriors eight times, with the Warriors winning seven encounters. UST contested every championship game from the resumption of games after the Pacific War on 1946 up to 1956. UST also won one NCAA championship, in 1930.
The Tiger Cubs also have a successful basketball program, with Finals series against the Ateneo Blue Eaglets 11 times since 1986. The Tigresses have the most number of women's championships, with ten. The latest coming at the 2006 season, at the expense of the FEU Lady Tamaraws.
On the 1994 season, the men's, women's and juniors' teams won all three UAAP championships in basketball, the only time it had happened in UAAP history.
On the 2006 season, the Men's and Women's team captured the basketball championships.
