USS Natchez

Three ships in the United States Navy have been named USS Natchez for the Natchez, Mississippi in southwest Mississippi.

  • The first Natchez was a sloop-of-war launched in 1827.
  • The USS Oceanographer was briefly named Natchez in April-May 1942.
  • The third Natchez (PG–102) was launched in 1942, served in World War II. She was sold to Dominican Republic in 1948 and served as Juan Pablo Duarte (F–102) until she sank in 1957.
