USS Nashville

Several ships have been named USS Nashville after Nashville, Tennessee, in honor of American Revolutionary War Brigadier General Francis Nash:

Three of the United States Navy:

• USS Nashville (PG-7) was a gunboat that saw action during the Spanish-American War and cruised off the coast of Panama in November 1903.
• USS Nashville (CL-43) was a light cruiser that saw action during World War II.
• USS Nashville (LPD-13) is an amphibious transport dock currently in service.

and two of the Confederate Navy:

• CSS Nashville (1861)
• CSS Nashville (1864).
