USENIX '05

USENIX '05 is the 2005 USENIX Annual Technical Conference that took place April 10–15 in Anaheim, California, USA. It was held in the Marriott Anaheim hotel.
The conference focused on research and recent developments in computing technologies and environments, including open source and Unix. It included five days of training sessions, three days of presentations of refereed papers, and specialized guru and BoF sessions.
The keynote speaker for this year's conference was George Dyson, a historian and the author of Darwin Among the Machines. The following invited talks were scheduled:
- Spencer Shepler — NFS v4.
- Mark Wirt — System support for MMOG.
- Scott Maxwell and Frank Hartman from JPL — The Mars rovers, Linux, planning simulation, and remote scheduling.
- Vernor Vinge — Science fiction author.
