[edit] Image
I changed the picture from a roll of film to a camera since nearly all non-pro photography and much pro photography is digital. As it happens, the most iconic camera image I could find is not a digital camera, but compact digital cameras aren't very iconic and digital SLRs tend to be all black. --Tysto 00:22, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hm, I dunno. The film icon served to better distinguish this (amateur) designation from professional photography, which does show an SLR-like camera icon:
- The old icon was from the tango project too, so they had a consistent visual style even though they were distinct. It would be nice if we could find a similarly styled consumer-level digital camera icon. Perhaps one could be made from Image:Camera-video.svg?

- I decided to try my hand at this. I'm no artist, but perhaps something along these lines would work?
- I've changed the picture to this in order to see how it looks in the context of a userbox. (It's supposed to resemble an old Sony Mavica.) Please don't mind my being bold, feel free to revert it if you don't like it.
