From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

USCGC Bollard (WYTL-65614) is a cutter in the US Coast Guard.

Bollard operates in Long Island Sound and north to Narragansett Bay. Her home port is New Haven, Connecticut. She was built in the early 1960s and is 63 feet long. As an icebreaking tug, the ship breaks ice on the Connecticut River in the winter to allow commercial traffic to pass. In summer, Bollard serves many missions including lobster regulation enforcement, drug interdiction and boating safety inspections. Year round, Bollard and her crew conduct search and rescue operations as necessary.
