Urban Decay (cosmetics)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Urban Decay is an American cosmetics company, founded in 1996. The brand is sold primarily in mid to high-range beauty stores, such as Ulta and Sephora, but can be found occasionally at discounted prices in other stores.

Urban Decay is widely recognized for not employing animal testing in the creation of their products, and clearly marks on their website which products are considered 'vegan.' They also offer 100% synthetic fiber makeup brushes, including blush and powder brushes, as an alternative to typical brushes constructed from animal hair.

They also created a popular line of edible shimmer body powders, which are safe to ingest in small amounts. From the time of the line's creation, the company has sold the following flavors:

-Cake (sweet frosting flavored), beige shimmer
-Red Hot (cinnamon flavored), red-pink shimmer
-Cocoa (powdered hot chocolate flavored), brown shimmer
-Gingersnap (cinnamon and syrup flavored), bronze shimmer
-Champagne (sweet and slightly fruity flavored), gold shimmer
-Gimlet (sugary lime flavored), pale green shimmer
-Honey (honey flavored), tan shimmer
-Marshmallow (vanilla frosting flavor), white shimmer
-Cherry Lemonade (powdered lemonade flavor), pink shimmer
-Peppermint (vanilla mint flavor), pale pink shimmer
-Blackberry (berry flavored), lavender shimmer

Many of these have been discontinued in recent years, however, and can only be found on ebay or at discount outlets. The flavors currently on the market are Mai Tai, Cosmopolitan, Pina Colada, Cocoa, Honey, and Marshmallow.
