Talk:Uplands, Swansea
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have changed the title of the article since the term Uplands is a geographical term - although I note that there is no article as such in Wikipedia! It is also incorrect to call it a "place in the county of Swansea" since it is quite clearly part of the built-up area of the city - even though Swansea is also a county. I cannot make much more of what the specific area called Uplands is or does: perhaps someone with local knowledge might be able to comment? It seems a very restricted area to me though! - Google maps knows about it and thinks that it is here, based around Uplands Crescent.

- I am local and could add a few snippets. It's certainly one of the most well-known regions within Swansea. But someone is adding tons and tons of "places in Swansea" to the Swansea article, and I'm not quite clear on the logic they're using to pick them. Some are regions, some are estates, some are council wards, and some are towns or villages. I live here, and I had to check where one or two of those were! And yet some very well-known distinctions and divisions are missing. So before launching into filling this out, I think it would be good to get some consensus on whether Wikipedia needs an article on every council ward in Britain (Uplands is also a council ward, with four councillors) or whether an article on "Places in and around Swansea", which could include them all, is more sensible. I have brought this up over on Talk:Swansea. See you there, then? --Telsa 18:01, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
