Hi. I've been around for a while, really, but finally bothered to register. I've made a few edits here and there before under IPs, mostly vandalism reverts.

A little bit about me, much of which probably isn't of interest -

  • I'm a regular on the Unofficial Squaresoft MUD (UOSSMUD), a MUD based loosely on the role-playing games produced by Square Soft (now Square Enix), with in-game areas based on Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana, and a heavily customizable class system derived from Final Fantasy Tactics in spirit, though it includes many classes which were not present in FFT. I was a regular player for 3-4 months before joining the wizard staff in December 1998, and remained an active staff number (if an underperforming one) until I retired last year. I still hang out there to chat, usually under the name Johan (I have several player characters still as well). A note: UOSSMUD's general atmosphere is not one I would consider "worksafe".
  • I was once a frequent player of City of Heroes, although this habit has fallen off as of late. I play hero characters on the Virtue server, and villain characters on the Justice server; my highest characters on each are a level 50 (the maximum) Broadsword/Regeneration Scrapper hero, Nagare Yuki, and a level 32 Super Strength/Invulnerability Brute villain, Hikaru Aina.
  • I have been a long-time player of Phantasy Star Online as well, with a level 100 HUnewearl character on the original Dreamcast release, a level 138 RAmarl character on the Gamecube version, and a level 139 (as of 5/20/06) HUnewearl character on the currently running 'Blue Burst' release for PC (the only one I still actively play).

And now for the more relevant stuff: I'm 22 (nearly 23 - my birthday hits June 16th), American, living in Fresno, California. My interests are sort of eclectic; as one might guess from the above, I have a particular interest in video games, especially RPGs and strategy games, and particularly "classic" ones. Some of my favorite RPGs include Might and Magic Book Two: Gates To Another World, Dragon Quest III, Final Fantasy IV, and Ultima IV. I'm a long-time player of the Sangokushi strategy video games as well.

On a more serious level, I'm quite interested in topics of history (not surprisingly given the above, a particular interest of mine is China's Three Kingdoms period) and political science (with some degree of experience in various model United Nations conferences held in and around California). I transcribe medical reports for a living, and one of my hobbies when I get sick and tired of videogames is thinking of something, looking it up on Wikipedia, and then spending hours reading everything linked from it.

(More to come later)
