Unsub
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- "Unsub" is a law-enforcement slang acronym for "Unknown Subject Of An Investigation".
- It could also refer to the title of a 1989 television series starring David Soul as a forensic investigator. The show was considered a spiritual ancestor of series like CSI, Without A Trace, The Inside and Criminal Minds (which makes frequent use of the acronym itself). This concept was first used in the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation series Wojeck which first aired in 1966. It was expanded in the series Quincy M.E. launched in 1974.
- It could also be used as an abbreviation of unsubscribe, used when one is being removed from an electronic mailing list.
