University of Toronto Campus Police

The University of Toronto Police Service was created in 1904 to provide policing services to the University community.

UTPS is commanded by 3 managers assigned to each campus.

[edit] Operations

  • Erindale campus unit has 12 officers (8 constables, 3 corporals and 1 manager)
  • Scarborough campus unit has 10 officer (6 constables, 3 corporals, 1 manager)
  • St. George (downtown) campus has 22 officers including 6 staff sergeants in charge of each platoon.

UTPS uses bikes and patrol cars on all three campuses.

UTPS are sworn in as Special Constables with the same powers as municipal police officers under the Ontario Police Services Act.
