University of Portsmouth Students' Union

This article is about the University of Portsmouth Students' Union (UPSU). There is also an article on the University of Plymouth Students' Union, also known as UPSU.

The University of Portsmouth Students' Union (UPSU) is an NUS-affiliated union, representing students at the University of Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.

Up until August 2006, UPSU will consist of two sections - Student Support & Representation and a trading department. After that time, the trading department will be taken over by the University of Portsmouth under the auspices of UPEL, a company originally set up to deal with the commercialisation of university research.

The Union's website was redesigned during the summer of 2005, making use of the Open Source content management system "Mambo" (now "Joomla!"). It is a work in progress and all students are encouraged to get involved by contributing their time to help push the site's development forward. The aim of the site is to make it into a definitive source of information and discussion for students of the University of Portsmouth.

Regrettably, the web designer was recently incapacitated in a bizarre biking accident. As it stands, a random number generator is recoding the website. Users have yet to notice the difference.
