[edit] History
It was officially founded in September 21, 1608 as was disposed in D. Fernando Valdés Salas' will. In the beginnings the University has four Faculties: Arts, previous studies for the others Faculties: Law, Canon Law and Theology.
The Faculties operation rules were given in this will, in the Old Statutes (Estatutos Viejos) and the rules of Salamanca University in no-contemplated cases.
