University of Minnesota Medical School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The University of Minnesota Medical School is the medical school of the University of Minnesota. It is a combination of two campuses. One is located in Duluth, Minnesota, formerly the University of Minnesota-Duluth School of Medicine. It has approximately 54 students enrolled for each of the first two years of medical school. After that point, they are automatically transferred to the Twin Cities campus for their clinical rotations. The mission of the Dulth Campus is to select and educate students who will likely select Family Medicine/Primary Care and practice in rural locations.

The larger campus is in the Twin Cities. This campus has approximately 160 students in each of the first two years of medical school with a mixture of traditional medical students and students pursuing advanced degrees such as a Ph.D through a MSTP scholarship. Thus at the end of the fourth year, the total graduating class will exceed 200 students.
