University of California Natural Reserve System

The University of California natural reserve system is the largest and most diverse set of university-owned and operated reserves in the world. The University of California owns 35 nature reserves which cover about 130,000 acres and include examples of most of the ecosystems of California. The reserve system is used for teaching, research and public-education.
