[edit] Gardens

The campus is widely regarded for the extent of its greenery,[1] and regularly wins awards for its landscaping.[2][3] Of particular note are the formal Jekyll Garden, allegedly designed by Gertrude Jekyll, next to Lenton and Wortley Hall; the walled Highfield Garden near the Trent building, which is home to the national collection of Canna; and the new Millennium Garden, formally opened in 2000, which has won several awards.[citation needed] In addition there is extensive planting elsewhere on campus, particularly in lakeside Highfields Park.
