University Oaks, Houston, Texas

University Oaks is a Houston, Texas subdivision located next to the University of Houston. The subdivision has approximately 240 homes. The subdivision is located inside the 610 Loop and is north of the Brays Bayou. The neighborhood is currently bounded by Wheeler Avenue to the south, Cullen Boulevard to the west, South MacGregor Way to the north and Calhoun Road to the east.

The neighborhood was first platted in 1939. The land that the neighborhood occupies was formerly owned by Ben Taub.

The neighborhood is within the Houston Police Department's South Central Patrol Division [1].

Houses in the neighborhood are zoned to Houston ISD schools. Some residents are zoned to Lockhart Elementary while others are zoned to Peck Elementary. All residents are zoned to Ryan Middle School and Yates High School.

Over the years, several neighorhood children have attended high school at The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, creating a popular neighborhood joke that HSPVA is a "zoned" high school for University Oaks.
