University College (Rutgers University)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
University College is an undergraduate constituent college of Rutgers University established in 1934 to serve adult, part-time and non-traditional students. This division is offered at all three of the University's campuses, at the main campus in New Brunswick and Piscataway and at campuses in the cities of Newark and Camden.
University College serves over five thousand undergraduates: 732 at Rutgers-Camden, 1,616 at Rutgers-Newark, 3,689 at Rutgers' main campus.[1]
In 2007, University College, along with the other undergraduate residential colleges (Rutgers, Douglass and Livingston Colleges) at Rutgers University's New Brunswick and Piscataway campus are to be combined into a School of Arts and Sciences in an effort to consolidate undergraduate education, and have one common, consistent policy for admissions, curriculum and graduation requirements at Rutgers.
