It offers Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts and MBA degrees, with sixteen specialty options in total, and other degrees under development.
University Canada West offers flexible entrance requirements for students with a GPA of 65% of higher [1], and gives credit for previous studies and work experience in the Degree Completion and MBA programs. In addition to their degree programs, UCW has also formed a number of Academies that provide certificate and diploma programs. These are: Academy of Languages, Academy of Film & Animation Arts, Academy of Business, Academy of Fine Arts and Academy of Design. [3] The Academy of Languages (formerly the Canadian College of Business and Language) has been offering ESL programs for more than 15 years. The Academy of Fine Arts (formerly the Victoria College of Art) [4], has been offering Fine Arts diplomas for more than 30 years.
All degrees are accredited by the BC Ministry of Advanced Education through its Degree Quality Assessment Board, and the diplomas are accredited through its Private Institutions and Career Training Agency.
The university's first campus is located at 950 King Road in Victoria, British Columbia. The new main campus is in the planning stages for a 400-acre (162 hectare) site in the Comox Valley near the Mount Washington Alpine Resort and the Comox International Airport on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
