Universidad del Valle (Colombia)

The Universidad del Valle is the main academic institution in the southwest of Colombia. It is also known as Univalle and its main campus is the Ciudad Universitaria, Meléndez neighborhood, in Santiago de Cali. It's other campus, (San Fernando), is host of the faculty of health of the university, which is famous for having one of the best medicine schools of Colombia.

The "Universidad del Valle" is an educational public state-supported university founded in 1945.

From 1960 to 1978, the Rockefeller Foundation maintained a Cali Field Office and was instrumental in providing support to make the university one of the premier schools in South America.
