The Universidad Científica del Sur, or UCSUR, is an educational and research institution that belongs to the Higher Education System of the Republic of Peru. UCSUR is an emerging institution: it was founded on 1998. Is in the City of Lima and its campus is adjacent to the Pantanos de Villa Reserved Zone, at Villa El Salvador district.

UCSUR was founded on February 5, 1998 when it was approved by the National Commission on the Functioning of Universities (CONAFU), an institution charged with supervising for a 5-year period any new university-level institution established in Peru.
[edit] Institutional Accreditation
On March, 8th of 2006 the CONAFU, after a 7 years evaluation period, gives the Definitive Autorization Resolution to the UCSUR, which implies that from now on the University is fully autonomous.

UCSUR has 1000 students in 6 schools and 3 levels.
[edit] Divisions and Schools UCSUR
The schools and their specialties are:
- Health Sciences Division: host the School of Human Medicine, whose graduates are Medical Surgeons, the School of Nutrition whose graduates have a Nutritional License and the School of Stomatology.
- Business and Engineering Sciences Division: have the School of Organizational Systems Engineering and its graduates are Systems Engineers and the School of Economic Engineering, its graduates are Economic Engineers
- AgroEnvironmental Sciences Division: which only have one school, the School of Veterinary and Zootechnics Medicine and its graduates are Veterinary Doctors.
