[edit] History
The UCW was created in August 1990 by Former manager and wrestling promoter Christopher Love, with its headquarters in Wichita, KS. Started in the summer of 1990, the UCW became KAKE-TV's first professional wrestling promotion since Bill Watts' Universal Wrestling Federation (United States) went off the air in late 1987. The UCW utilized KAKE-TV's Studios in Wichita, KS for their weekly television shows, which was hosted by Bert Prentice himself, then later Lance Cavett was added to the show along with Prentice as commentators. All the shows were lead ins to the montly Century II convention center's monthly shows, which would have all the blow-offs to the feuds that were going on in the area. The area folded in the summer of 1991 as Global Wrestling Federation took over the area and ran the Crest Theatre in downtown Wichita, KS for a few more shows, before abandoning Wichita altogether.
