United Van Lines

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

United Van Lines is a moving van company now part of UniGroup, which also owns Mayflower Transit. It was founded in 1928 as Return Loads Service, Inc., which helped arrange for loads on the return trips of moves, which otherwise would be empty deadheads. In 1933 it was reorganized under the current name, and in 1940 moved its headquarters to St. Louis, Missouri. It is an agent-owned company owned by its local affiliate movers.

It is the largest mover in the United States with over a 30% market share (according to the US Bureau of Transportation Statistics).
