From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

United Dairy Farmers (known locally as UDF) is a chain of ice cream shops started by Carl Lindner, Sr. and Carl Lindner, Jr. in 1938, with the opening of the first United Dairy Farmers store at 3955 Main Avenue (now Montgomery Road) Norwood, Ohio on May 8th, 1940. The chain now has stores in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, as well as a few stores in Dayton, Columbus and Cleveland. Most UDF stores also operate a gas station and a convenience store, with the gasoline sold under the Mobil brand name.

UDF's Homemade Brand Chocolate Ice Cream was voted #1 Chocolate Ice Cream 2005 by the Cincinnati Enquirer.
