Union Station (Providence)

Union Station stood as Providence's main train station for almost 100 years. Opening in 1898 after the old station was destroyed in a fire, it was designed by the firm of Stone, Carpenter, and Willson.
In the 1980s, train service was moved to Providence (Amtrak station) as part of the dismantling of the "Chinese Wall" of train tracks that hemmed in Downtown Providence, and the building was renovated. It now houses offices and restaurants.
