(2006)

2006 brought the self-produced Uninvited, Like the Clouds. Leading off with the moody (most of their lead off songs are dark moody pieces that Steve Kilbey favors), the album shines with a brilliance harkening back to the likes of Heyday and the somber tone of 1992's masterpiece, Priest=Aura.

The album features more Steve Kilbey original artwork for its colorful cover.

The album's masterpiece Day 5 is a gentle yet monumental achievement while Unified Field and Easy see them lightening up and having fun playing melodic pop music like only The Church can deliver.

Pure Chance is pure Pink Floyd, which The members of The Church cite as a major influence, especially with the flow of content since Hologram of Baal in 1998. Kilbey's themes of mind altering drug use continues with Space Needle and Block which is throbbing and powerful dark music despite it's musical flourish and creepy yet completely sing-along chorus.

Marty Willson-Piper once again shines with She'll Come Back For You Tomorrow while Peter Koppes contributes the hauntingly beautiful Never Before.
