Unification Thought
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unification Thought is the philosophical system of the Unification Church and is based on the more theological Divine Principle.
Dr. Sang Hun Lee systematized the ideas of Unification Thought from the sermons of Rev. Moon and conversations with him as well. He always insisted that he was not the "author" of the ideas but felt compelled to conform to the Western standard requiring authors to place their names on their books; he nonetheless took pains to ensure the reader's understanding that the origin of (and credit for) the ideas was Sun Myung Moon.
The main elements of Unification Thought are:
- Theory of the Original Image
- Ontology
- Theory of the Original Human Nature
- Axiology: A Theory of Value
- Theory of Education
- Ethics
- Theory of Art
- Theory of History
- Epistemology
- Logic
- Methodology
Books about Unification Thought went through various editions in Korean, Japanese and English.
