Talk:Universiti Putra Malaysia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I've got my masters from UPM and aslo lived in malaysia for 5 years. My conclusion: Malaysia is a country where you able to spend nice holidays or go for retirement. Nice people, but this is all i can say. Malays (native Malaysians) are not productive (lazy) people, have strong soccial support from goverment compare to other Malaysians (chinese, indians, etc). So UPM is a goverment university, mostly all professors and teachers are Malays. During my studies i met different kind of ppl. I have not got any guidence and understanding from my Supervisor at the same time i got lots of troubles from others (dean, and etc). Most of them have some kind of standard tune that they follow and expect everyone to follow. For example they don't appreciate the idea, but rather will ask you to put "crazy" digaram wich is not applicable to your work at all or will change title of the work to something that they like (and ofcourse that does not make sence as well)... and they also tend to have self opinion as they are "BIG guys" and expect everyone to follow with out any arguments if you don't want any troubles. To complete simple issue you will have to come to university 1000 times until they will get fedup or they will agree. This is some of the tips... and if you will consider me a one of the thousands happy who was graduated, please don't make a fast conclusion, as i know many people who suffer and it is considered NORMAL! :) Ok, I wish everyone goodluck, go for private schools... By the way, don't think UPM is recognized...
