Talk:Union Aerospace Corporation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I just noticed that there was no entry for the UAC. Since Doom 3 was such a massive retelling there's surely enough information to have a proper entry. This is my first entry on Wikipedia (I know, it shows). If there is anytihng you disagree with or anything is wrong, please change it!

[edit] Screensaver or wallpaper?
All or almost all computers at the UAC in Doom 3 has some kind of screensaver, it is very cool. It consists of a rotating UAC logo and a text under it that says "Station Locked" or something. Is there any such screensaver avaible for download anywhere? If not, someone should make one! ;) -- Frap 16:16, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- ...The computers in the UAC complex don't have screen savers, they're command prompts. -Emhilradim 08:08, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Products UAC make are weapons among other stuff. Such as the BFG9000, Mach-2 Chain Gun and Plasma Gun.
All(?) people on UAC has a PDA. And some have different security clearences, etc.

[edit] Infobox
Since there is nothing anywhere which forbids the use of infoboxes in this context AMIB (as I have repeatedly said), I really wish you would leave this one alone - at least until you can get the Wikipedia parameters changed. -- Grandpafootsoldier
[edit] Inspiration
The article references as possible inspiration Aliens' Weyland-Yutani corporation but it resembles the TriOptimum Corporation more than Weyland-Yutani to the point of also possessing a triagular logo.
- Interesting point, but while the triangular UAC logo (at least to my knowledge) has been introduced by Doom 3, the first appearance of UAC predates System Shock of a year (Doom released in 1993, System Shock in 1994). Weyland-Yutani (from Alien, released in 1979) can be considered an archetype of the "evil bent" SF corporation and it is likely both id software and Origin took from it their inspiration for UAC and TriOptimum respectively. [edit] Logo
We need add the new UAC logo from Doom 3.
