Unfun Records

Unfun Records is an independent record label that was formed in Santa Cruz, California and is run by Johnny Darko. The label focuses mainly on the genres of hardcore punk, punk rock and thrash. Unfun began around 2000 with a mission to make music with the motto “quality over quantity”. Other goals of the label have been to promote bands, and distibute their music, helping them reach their full potential. Some of the record labels bands on Unfun have moved onto include Victory Records, Sessions Records, and Tribunal Records, Revelation Records, and Level-Plane Records.

In 2004, the label moved its operations to Berkeley, California and continues to seek out bands in need of promotion and label backing. In 2005, Unfun began to branch out their music into the genre Experimental music. New signings in the Experimental genre include Animal from New York City and Tenebre from California.
