Underdog Records was a Chicago based independent record label during the late 1980's and early 1990's. Russ Forster founded the label but passed it on to a punk collective after several years. It would be run by a collective for the rest of its existence and it was during this time that the majority of the label's releases came out. The Underdog collective also published a zine and provided distribution for the releases of other local independent record labels and bands.
Bands included 8 Bark, AYA, The Bollweevils, Cap'n Jazz, Dead Steelmill, Eskimo Nation, Friends of Betty, Gauge, The Geezers, Group of Individuals, I.D.Under, I.M.F., Impulse Manslaughter, No Empathy, Oblivion, Rustweiler, Screeching Weasel, Self Help Mantra, The Space Invaders, Sponge, Spongetunnel, Tasty Bush and V Reverse.
