Umayya Abu-Hanna

Umayya Abu-Hanna (born March 17, 1961 in Haifa, Israel) is a Finnish reporter and writer, who was originally born in Palestine to a Christian family. She has been living in Finland since 1981 and has studied at the University of Helsinki and University of Art and Design Helsinki. Abu-Hanna has been a member of the city council in Helsinki representing the Green League and has worked as a television reporter and a teacher of journalism. She has been a member of the Central Board of Arts since 2004. Currently, she works in the Finnish National Gallery as Cultural Diversity Coordinator.
