Ullas Das

Ullas Das (Bengali:উল্লাস দাস) (born August 7, 1984, Kolkata) is a Bengali writer.

Born into a Hindu family in Kolkata, he is currently doing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata under Wbut. His father Shri Uttam Kumar Das is a mechanical engineer and poet and mother Saraswati Das Chowdhury is a teacher.

At the age of 9, Ullas took first prize in the district level under-19 poetry competition organized by the government of West Bengal (India). At 17, he took first prize in the state level article competition.He also won a prize in Mil melabar mela - a poem competition organized by the magazine Anandamela.
Ullas's stories and poems had been published in various Bengali magazines, including Sananda, Unish-Kuri, Anandamela, Bangolok, and others. He was formerly editor of the magazine Natun Jagat, published by Birati Natun Jagat.

- Ullas's first book of poems Bangla Ami Bodhhoi Tomai Bhalobasina (Bengali:বাংলা অািম েবাধহয় েতামায় ভালবািসনা), was published in 2000.
- He became the editor of Natun Jagat at the age of 11.
- His first story was published in Bangolok when Ullas was studying in class six.
- Ullas likes to play guitar. He has performed a show in Nandan, Kolkata.
