Ulf Ekman

Rev. Dr. Ulf Ekman (born 8 December 1950 in Göteborg, Sweden), is a Swedish pastor and founder of the charismatic church Livets Ord (Word of Life). He has also founded Livets Ord University and Word of Life Bible School. The church, which brought the Word of Faith Movement to Sweden, was founded in Uppsala 1983 and Ekman remained as local pastor until passing on the pastorship to Robert Ekh in 2002 to focus on international work. Ulf Ekman recently returned to Sweden and once again took over the pastorate of the church.
Ekman in his youth was briefly a member of KFML(r) before he converted to Christianity.
He received call of preaching nations on the East of Sweden. Through his church, Word of Life, he has sent missionaries to Bangladesh, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Israel and India. Word of Life is also the host for the annual Christian event "Euro Conference." In former USSR he started to preach in pentecostal churches and on stadiums. In Riga, Latvia (former USSR) he worked close with Aleksej Ledyaev and "New Generation Church" where he is a pastor. Almost in each big city of former USSR was established Word of Life Church and New Generation Church. Number of reached people with Gospel can be between 250,000-500,000 people. Cooperation with New Generation Church was stopped in March of 2004 in doctrinal disagreement.
