- coal mining and enrichment of coal concentrate, generation and supply of electric energy;

- production of calibrated rolling and production of round link chains, press-forging, welding electrodes, hardware products;

- search, exploration and exploitation of rock products and minerals and processing of natural stone;

Founded in 1992, “Ukrpodshypnik” is a diversified business group incorporating enterprises and companies of seven sectors of the national economy. Since its foundation the group has significantly increased its production and financial potential. Covering large and medium enterprises and companies in the Donetsk region, the Group has expanded into industrial and financial sectors throughout Ukraine, with plans to expand in Central Eastern Europe. Annually, “Ukrpodshypnik” pays more than 90 million dollars of taxes to local and state budgets. With business interests covering enterprises and companies in the Donetsk region, over the last two years the group has expanded to investments in industrial and financial sectors all over Ukraine.

OJSC “Artyomovsk Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant” – the leading metallurgical enterprise in Ukraine, one of the largest producers of non-ferrous metal products in the CIS:

OJSC “Donbasskabel” – located in the city of Donetsk, the industrial centre of Ukraine. The production facilities include product lines of power and control cables for the mining and heavy industry, and also include rubber, mining and flexible trailing cable production plants.

CJSC “VISTEC” – one of the biggest producers of welding electrodes in Ukraine. Other divisions include: chains, forging, wire and nails, powder metallurgy and metal cutting tools.

CJSC “Konstantinovsky metallurgical plant” – founded in 2005 on the base of one of the oldest metallurgical plants in Ukraine.

Daughter Enterprise “Ekoteh” – placed on site of the mine “Doljanskaya-Kapitalnaya” (Odesskaya-2) SHC “Sverdlovskantracit” for maintenance of nature protection works on refinement of the slime pit with extraction of coal.

Stone processing plant “Omphal” Ltd. – a modern enterprise with a complete manufacturing cycle – from natural stone extraction to realization of finished goods.

CB “Active Bank” LTD was founded in 2002, and presently has 7 branches throughout Ukraine.

The headquarter office of “Ukrpodshypnik” is located in Kyiv, with 4 000 sq. meters of space and an average staff of 150 people. The “Ukrpodshypnik” branch office is situated in Donetsk, with an average number of 120 employees.

For many years, “Ukrpodshypnik” has actively participated in the public life of Ukraine and its regions, contributing to the cultural, intellectual and sports fields of Ukrainian society. The company furnishes sponsor assistance to the Donetsk football club “Shahtyor”, the Donetsk State Technical University handball team, and the Donetsk Regional Federation of Boxing. “Ukrpodshypnik” participates in many local social programmes.

End of 2005, Austria announced an international tender for the sale of the Austrian Bank Burgenland. Starting from December 6th, 2005, the Ukrainian Consortium, consisting of companies OJSC “Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol”, OJSC “Ukrpodshypnik”, “Active Bank”, and Austrian-based “SLAV AG”, was included into the tender process of the privatization of Bank Burgenland. On March 5th, 2006, the government of Burgenland announced its decision in favor of the Austrian bidder, GraWe. On April 4th, 2006 the Ukrainian Consortium filed an official complaint to the EU Commission for a detailed examination of the Bank Burgenland case. The process is ongoing.
