Ukrainian Mobile Communications

Ukrainian Mobile Communications (UMC) is one of the two largest mobile operators in Ukraine with almost 17 million GSM subscribers (October 2006).
In 1993, UMC was the first company to introduce mobile (cellular) services in Ukraine, initially in the analog NMT standard, then in GSM 900 & 1800. In October 2006, UMC terminated the NMT service with plans to use the spectrum for CDMA-450.
The company's main competitors in Ukraine are Kyivstar and Astelit - life:).
UMC's network codes are +38050 (postpay and prepaid users), +38095 (prepaid Sim-Sim users), and +38066 (prepaid JEANS users).
The company is fully owned by Russia's Mobile TeleSystems.
