[edit] Fiction tag
I added the fiction tag because the current article doesn't make it clear that this is a persona (an "act") played by Phil for entertainment purposes. --Viriditas | Talk 01:27, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Can you examine article: Malevolent Alien Abduction Research ?
Is there anything that is wrong with this article ? It has been slated for deletion.
I've had some CE-1s,one really bad CE-3 when I was a kid living in TX.
The article discribes a website that depicts HOSTILE alien encounters, is a place to report these encounters, provide research material.
'NO!' I am NOT ridiculing,insulting,etc. you at all.Martial Law 04:57, 27 October 2005 (UTC) :)
[edit] Article Examination
Can you go to the discussion page of "Contact Consequences" and find out why people want it thrown out ? It about the effects of alien contact on "Joe Sixpack" and the "Soccer Moms".Martial Law 21:02, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Article's outlook on fact vs. fiction
[edit] Fiction
I may be stepping into a hornet's nest, but I edited the article to make clear that his claims are, in fact, fictional, and intended to be so. He's an entertainer. GreetingsEarthling 07:30, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
- Please, no further edits to confuse the issue. His story, as the article points out, is outrageous. UFO Phil is a radio personality.
[edit] New trawl
Yes, he has been a guest on radio shows, but that doesn't make him a "radio personality" any more than any other person that's been interviewed on a radio show. His story is fictional based on what evidence? His story is fact based on what evidence?
- Does UFO Phil exist? absolutely as evidenced by his website and countless radio interviews.
- Does UFO Phil beleive the things he says or is it all made up for radio humor? Only UFO Phil knows for sure.
Nitpicking the fact or fiction of this article seems pointless. Are you worried somebody might be fooled by it? There are encylopedic articles about hostile alien abduction here. His may be a parody, but it could be loosely based on his own experiences. Are you ready to edit every article about every "UFO hunter" or "abductee" that claims to have had experiences with aliens and call them fictional as well? If this one was obvious enough fiction for you, then it's probably written well enough that it's obvious to everybody else. I don't really see a need for editing "to make clear that his claims are, in fact, fictional". Randomgenius 06:44, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fact
I belive this is fact because If I call in to a talk show would I become a fictional charicter? I don't think so! That is why I believe this is fact. JaJaon 17:53, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
