Udora, Ontario

Udora is a rural community, formerly known as "Snoddon's Corners" after the illustrious Snoddon Hotel, located south of Pefferlaw and Beaverton as well as Lake Simcoe in Ontario in the eastern part of Georgina near Uxbridge. A small stream is situated north of Udora. Durham 1 passes through the centre of Udora, North/South and Ravenshoe Road East/West. Lake Ridge Road (Durham 23) is to the east of Udora. In the North/West of Udora is the Estonian Village , founded by Estonian settlers in 1956. Local street names in that village are also in that language.
Highway 48 lies to the north and the highway linking Whitby and Orillia (Highway 12 lies to the east. Area code 705 is bounded to the north while the south of Udora is in Area code 905. The Canadian National rail runs north of Udora, its nearest train station is in Pefferlaw. Udora is located about 10 km South of Port Bolster, at Lake Simcoe. About 20 km S/E of Sutton, about 25 to 30 km SW of Beaverton and Orillia, W of Lindsay, N of Uxbridge, about 50 km N of Whitby, about 80 km N of Toronto and NE of Newmarket.
In the centre of town on the main road there is a General Store and a competitor called Jug City. To the west is a park that has a baseball diamond, along with the town hall.

Udora is situated between a forest and a farmland setting. The residential and commercial buildings are within Udora. Other residential areas and cottages are located closer to Lake Simcoe towards the north. Farmland covers the south and east while forests that connect with Pefferlaw and Sutton filled that are mainly made up of pine and other varieties of trees lie to the west and north and cover about 25 to 30% of the area around Udora.
