Wikipedia talk:U.S. Wikipedians' notice board

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is my first visit to the U.S. Wikipedians' notice board :) I have come to invite you all to the New York 2004 Meetup. Predicted to be the largest Wikipedia meetup in the US to date! It will held on the afternoon of Sunday 12 December 2004 at a yet-to be decided location. Put it in your calendars now! Angela. 19:36, Nov 3, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Active... or not active, that is the question...

So which is it? This noticeboard seems very dead, even though people want to create a Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western notice board. Seems pointless if the main notice board isn't being noticed. -- AllyUnion (talk) 10:41, 3 Jan 2005 (UTC)

  • I think that some Wikipedians tend to communicate through other mediums (i.e. Instant Messengers, other websites, clubs, groups, etc) rather than at this unnoticeable notice board. -- Riffsyphon1024 11:41, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Historical tag

This notice board is out of date as it still has the USCOTW up(which is inactive) and has only be edited 2 since January, if no one has objections I'm to put up the historical tag and make a section for inactive notice boards. Falphin (June 28)

[edit] Deletion list

Hi folks,

I just wanted to let you know about a list of US-related items on Votes for Deletion. It's part of WikiProject Deletion sorting, and you can find it here. The list includes sublists for each state (some have not yet been created).

If you find the list useful, please also help keep it up to date.

By the way, new deletion sorters are welcome and needed. Join us!

Cheers,

[edit] October Minneapolis Meetup

I am giving a presention about Wikicities and Wikimedia projects at the Wireless Cities conference at the University of Minnesota. I have all of October 8 free. Would anyone in this area like to meet up then? If so, please see Wikipedia:Meetup/Minneapolis. Angela. 20:28, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] USA portal

Hi - i've noticed that Portal:USA is in urgent need of updating. As one of the most high-profile portals on Wikipedia, it really isn't acceptable that it is unchanged since June 2005. Please could someone/some people rectify this situation (I would, but I don't know/like America), otherwise the Portal may be delisted. Please see Wikipedia talk:Portal#Portal maintenance for discussion.
