U.S. Route 210

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

United States Highway 210 is a former spur highway of U.S. Highway 10 in Minnesota. It once ran from Carlton west to Motley. It was one of the original U.S. Routes as designated in 1926.

U.S. Route 210 was almost renumbered U.S. Route 208 in a proposed 1934 numbering plan. This was because Highway 10, its parent route, was proposed to take its southern branch (formerly marked U.S. Route 10S) between St. Cloud, Minnesota and Fargo, North Dakota. Thus, Highway 210 would no longer have met its parent route. The final numbering plan routed U.S. Route 10 along its northern branch and extended U.S. Route 52 along the southern branch, so Highway 210 kept its association with the parent route.

Around 1973, the U.S. route number was decommissioned, and the highway assumed the number Minnesota State Highway 210.
