U.S. Route 17-1

U.S. Route 17-1 was a designated highway in North Carolina and Virginia from 1926 to 1933, and may have been the only hyphenated route designation in the U.S. Highway system. According to NCRoads.com, the route may or may not have been signed as "17-1" in the field, though it was included on several contemporary maps of the then-new highway system. It met its parent, U.S. Highway 17, in Wilmington, North Carolina.
