U.S. 41st Field Artillery Brigade

The 41st Field Artillery Brigade (41st FA BDE) —nicknamed the Railgunners— was an artillery brigade in the United States Army. It used to be based at Campbell Barracks in Heidelberg, Germany. It was disbanded on July 11, 2005.

The 41st FA BDE was under the command of V Corps Artillery and provided divisional artillery support for the 1st Armored Division.

Before its disbandment the 41st FA Brigade was composed of:

  • 1st Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment (Babenhausen, Germany),(MLRS) (inactivated April 26, 2006)

The 41st was first organized in 1918 as part of the coastal artillery. The unit was deactivated in 1969 in Vietnam and reactivated in 1972.
