U218 Singles (also called U218 or 18 Singles) is a compilation by the Irish rock band U2. This album was released in Ireland on November 17, in Australia on November 18, in the UK on November 20, and in the US on November 21, 2006. It contains eighteen songs altogether—sixteen of their most well-known songs, as well as "The Saints Are Coming" (in collaboration with Green Day) and a new song, [1] called "Window in the Skies." Also "I Will Follow" appears as a bonus track on UK and Australian editions of the CD.[2]

A limited edition version includes a live DVD featuring ten songs recorded on the Vertigo Tour in Milan [3]. The deluxe version in the UK, Ireland and U.S. iTunes Store also contains these live songs (with the exception of "Original of the Species") as audio tracks, as well as a digital booklet and a bonus track, "Smile," for those that pre-order the album. For the U.S. version, it does not come with a digital booklet, but it does come with "Smile" as a bonus track even if it hasn't been pre-ordered. [4]

A separate full length DVD featuring the single promo videos will also be released.

The full album was leaked to file-sharing communities on November 10.

"Original of the Species" (Live from Milan) is available to download officially from www.7digital.com.

The album reached #4 in the UK, while entering at #12 in the US - lower than usual peaks for U2 in the respective territories.

A bonus live DVD filmed in Milan, Italy is included in the deluxe edition of the CD package. On the iTunes deluxe edition, these songs are featured as bonus audio tracks, except for "Original of the Species."
