The Tzaddikim are righteous folk, in the Jewish tradition. The singular form is Tzadok. There are said to be 36 Tzaddikim who are known and 36 who are unknown in each generation, and were it not for these, the world would be destroyed. Rabbi Baal Shem Tov is said to be one of the 36 revealed Tzaddikim.
