Is there any legitimacy to the bit of folklore/myth/doctrine that there are 36 tzaddikim who support the world? I read somewhere (probably a Neil Gaiman comic) that it's a Jewish myth; I've also read that it's a Shiite myth. --68.41.122.213 04:00, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

I just read that same comic (Sandman 31) which is what led me here. I seem to recall him being Jewish so he might of not made it up, a brief Yahoo and Google search seems to support the number 36 but its too early for me to look into it enough to find out completely or rework this Highlandlord 09:41, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
