Tyson Todd Meade is best known as the singer and principal songwriter for Defenestration and the Chainsaw Kittens. Though he is known primarily for his distinctive voice and uniquely baroque take on pop songwriting, Meade's creative career has also included the roles of rock critic, painter, and disc jockey. Born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Meade currently resides in Shanghai, People's Republic of China.
In recent U.S. live appearances, Meade has fronted a new group, Halston, featuring members of the Starlight Mints; Meade has also been backed by New York indie group Arbor Day. Meade's setlists have drawn from every stage of his more than 20-year career.
