Tyrone Mears (born February 18, 1983 in Stockport, England) is a professional English football player who currently plays as a defender for West Ham United F.C.

Mears came through the ranks at Manchester City, however upon Man City's promotion to the FA Premier League in 2002, Mears' first-team opportunities became limited, and was sold to Preston North End for £200,000. Mears only made 1 appearance for City, replacing their now-manager Stuart Pearce as a substitute in the 84-minute against Nottingham Forest on 30 March 2002.

Mears signed for West Ham United for an initial £1million on 5 July 2006, but the deal could potentially rise to £1.9million depending on appearances and future international recognition with England.

In the 2005-2006 season whilst at Preston North End, instead of having his surname Mears on the back of his shirt it said his nickname "Tye", A rare occurrence in English football.

He attended North Chadderton School for his secondary school education.
