Ty Burr has been a film critic for the Boston Globe since 2002.

Burr studied film at Dartmouth College and New York University. Currently, he lives in Newton, Massachusetts. Burr has written two books, The Hundred Greatest Movies of All Time and The Hundred Greatest Stars of All Time. The Best Old Movies for Children is coming February of '06 and has written articles in the New York Times, Spin, the Boston Phoenix, and other publications. Some of the movies Burr has assigned his top rating to are Broken Flowers, Sideways and Million Dollar Baby. [1] He began his career at Home Box Office in the 1980s. From 1992 until 2002 he worked for Entertainment Weekly as the magazine's chief video critic. Although Burr still does contribute to the magazine occasionally. At the Boston Globe he reviews films along side Wesley Morris. Louise Kennedy also occasionally contributes a review, but her specialty remains theater. Burr and Morris also make appearances on NECN to discuss the latest movies.
