Two-A-Days (football)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Two-A-Days, or sometimes known as Hell Week, is a term in football to describe when a football team has practice twice a day: in the morning, and in the afternoon or evening. Two-A-Days are usually done the beginning of fall, such as the end of July or mid-August, but are sometimes done on a daily basis for some teams.
[edit] Hell Week
Hell Week in football is very similar to the Navy SEALs' version of hell week in that it is designed to test the physical and mental capabilities of potential players. Each practice will run anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 3 hours, for a total of 3-6 hours of practice each day. The practices consist of mostly physical conditioning, such as sprints, push-ups, up-downs, and agility drills. Because of this, many potential players will quit before the end of hell week.
