[edit] History
The formation of Twisted Method came to fruition in 1998, where the four members of the band met after school to simply pass the time. As time went on, they saw their popularity grow to the point where they were selling out shows in their hometown, Cape Coral Florida. This is where they caught the attention of one particular major record label.
After impressing "3Sixty Music Group" at a live performance, they negotiated a record contract with the now defunct major label, MCA Records. The group didn't even need to record a demo, they were signed simply on the back of their strong live show.
MCA Records (acquired by Geffen Records) bought them a spot on the second stage of the Ozzfest Tour in 2003, where they ultimately had the highest record sales of all the bands on the second stage that year with their album titled Escape from Cape Coma (2003). Despite this, the band hung around in contract limbo for quite a while. Things were looking up when Geffen indicated that they'd finance a second CD, even putting them on tour with dope twice in 2004.
However, on Thursday of June 9, 2005, it was announced that Twisted Method was no more after members Ben Goins and Andrew Howard had quit the band. Howard left because he wanted to be with his family after becoming a father, and Goins "left the band for God". [1]
Tragically, Andrew Howard was found dead on Friday afternoon of September 16, 2005. He was just 23 years old. [2]
[edit] After Twisted Method
Remaining Twisted Method members, Derrick Tribbett and Derek DeSantis quickly formed a new group called Makeshift Romeo with ex-Motograter bassist Jonny Nailz and former "Slitheryn" drummer Tom "T-Bone" Burke. Two of their original songs were those originally planned for the second Twisted Method album. Continual lineup changes have occurred since the group's formation, where now dope members Edsel and Virus are permanent additions. Makeshift Romeo released their 7 track self-released EP on June 13, 2006.
